Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, seeks a BE/BC Critical Care Intensivist to join the CTICU faculty. The successful candidate will provide attending-level critical care for high-acuity cardiothoracic patients post-surgery and complex medical cases, while contributing to education and departmental research.

Academic appointment levels range and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required and board-certified or board-eligible in critical care medicine
• Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
• Strong communication, professionalism, judgment, and teamwork essential

Responsibilities

• Provide attending-level critical care in CTICU at UPMC Presbyterian
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and develop evidence-based plans
• Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and students; document thoroughly
• Support quality improvement, patient safety, and collaboration across departments
