Job summary

University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC are seeking board-eligible or board-certified intensivists to join the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) at UPMC Presbyterian. You will provide attending-level critical care for high-acuity cardiothoracic patients, including post-surgical cases and those requiring advanced circulatory support.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in critical care medicine by a US accreditation board.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Provide attending-level critical care for a high-acuity cardiothoracic population in the CTICU at UPMC Presbyterian.
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and develop evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
• Supervise and teach fellows, residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Support an inclusive learning and clinical environment across the department.
• May provide clinical care in other ICUs across the UPMC Health System based on needs and mutual agreement.
