Job summary

The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC is seeking board-eligible or board-certified intensivists to join the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) at UPMC Presbyterian.

The successful candidate will provide attending-level critical care for a high-acuity cardiothoracic population and collaborate with cardiac surgery, cardiology, and transplant teams.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required with board certification or eligibility in critical care medicine.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Excellent communication, professionalism, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide attending-level critical care in the CTICU for high-acuity cardiothoracic patients.
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and develop evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
• Supervise and educate fellows, residents, medical students, and advanced providers.
• Maintain timely documentation and engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Contribute to education, research, and clinical care across the UPMC Health System as needed.
