VillageMD in Berkeley Heights, NJ is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, manage the registration process, and ensure a smooth patient flow. You will collect payments, verify insurance, and scan documents for accurate record-keeping.

The role involves scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and coordinating pre-authorizations with clinical staff while maintaining excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required. Associate Degree preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use required; experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems preferred.

Responsabilités

• Greet visitors, patients, and families professionally and direct them appropriately.
• Maintain efficient patient flow through registration and provide excellent customer service.
• Answer calls promptly, direct as needed, and take accurate messages.
• Inform patients of delays and assist with patient comfort while awaiting physicians.
• Post self-pay charges, collect payments, and provide receipts; reconcile daily payments.
• Open/close batches, reconcile collections, prepare deposits, and document corrections.
• Scan insurance cards, verify insurance using online systems, and update patient accounts.
• Schedule appointments accurately and manage waitlists; review eligibility and phone reports.
• Enter orders for diagnostic tests and procedures; support pre-authorizations.
• Process referrals and communicate issues to supervisors promptly.
