Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego's Carmel Valley is seeking a Patient Service Representative in the Cardiology Department for a full-time 80-hour-per-pay-period schedule (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm). This role is on-site at Scripps Clinic - Carmel Valley and supports patient registration, appointment scheduling, and check-out tasks.

You will interact with patients and providers, verify demographics/insurance, manage payments, and coordinate referrals to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computer applications, strong math skills, and money handling.

• 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare/medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and schedule appointments; collect payments.
• Respond to billing and payment inquiries.
• Manage check-in/check-out with identity verification and demographic/insurance data.
• Schedule and confirm appointments and enter insurance information.
• Initiate and validate referrals/authorizations.
• Provide proactive customer service and involve leadership as needed.
