Job summary

PeaceHealth in Oregon seeks a Patient Access Representative - Cardiology for a full-time, day shift. The role coordinates scheduling, insurance verification and pre-certification, acting as a clinical liaison with physician practices during pre-visit services.

Responsibilities include patient pre-registration, balance collection, coverage verification and prior authorizations, plus answering inquiries and providing coverage for others as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year in medical office or related customer service.
• Experience with Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers/registers patients with accurate demographic and financial data.
• Collects patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance or other payments.
• Verifies coverage and obtains prior authorizations/referrals as appropriate.
• Responds to customer inquiries.
• Assists with departmental coverage as needed.
• Manages daily appointment schedules including reminder calls and referrals.
• May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
