Job summary

PeaceHealth in Washington seeks a Patient Access Representative for a walk-in clinic. This full-time, day shift role supports patient registration, insurance verification, and pre-certification to ensure smooth pre-visit processes.

You will register patients, collect payments, verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and assist with scheduling and inquiries. A strong customer service background and familiarity with MS Office are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year required: medical office or related customer service experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers/registers patients with accurate demographic and financial data.
• Collects patient balances, co-payment, co-insurance, or other payment types.
• Verifies coverage and ensures all insurance requirements are met, and obtaining all prior authorizations/referrals as appropriate.
• Responds to customer inquiries.
• Assists with departmental coverage as needed.
• Manages daily appointment schedules which may include reminder calls and referrals.
• May transport patients utilizing escort or wheeled transport equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
