Mass General Brigham Mass General Brigham Medical Group Western Massachusetts, Inc. seeks a 40-hour full-time Medical Assistant to support the Cardiology practice onsite in Northampton, MA, Monday–Friday, with shifts within 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

The role includes vital signs, patient scheduling and flow, and collaboration with physicians and nurses to ensure efficient care. Onsite position with opportunities for professional growth and expansive patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) preferred
• Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required

Responsibilities

• Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and helps onboarding training
• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare equipment, interview patients to obtain medical information, measure vital signs
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions; organize educational materials
• Perform general office duties; act as liaison with other departments and advocate for patients
• Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log and prepare for testing; phlebotomy if competent
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates
• Provide immunizations as applicable with required certification or supervision
• Improve departmental quality initiatives (two patient identifiers and hand hygiene)
