Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Cardiac Sonographer Registered to perform diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams using ultrasound testing equipment at The Jewish Hospital. The role involves transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and cardiac stress testing, with on-call hours required.

Required credentials include BLS and echocardiography certification (RDCS or RCS). An associate degree in a related field is preferred, with EPIC EHR and PACS experience valued.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (required)
• Credentialed in echocardiography: RDCS or RCS (ARDRDS/CCI)

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing examinations.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.
