Job summary

White Oak Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Heart and Vascular Unit. The RN will educate patients and families, mentor staff, and apply evidence-based practices to advance patient care while upholding our mission.

The role requires a Maryland RN license, BLS, NCLEX pass, and 1 year of RN experience. Night shifts, 36 hours per week, with every-other weekend rotation and shift differential eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX exam required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care, incorporating feedback from senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards while upholding Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties, and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition promptly and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence-based change.
