Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Sonographer to perform 2‑D, M‑mode, color flow mapping and cardiac Doppler echocardiography for adult and pediatric patients. The role requires knowledge of cardiac anatomy and active participation in department protocols and patient care.

The candidate will maintain documentation, support after-hours coverage as needed, and contribute to a team-focused, education‑driven environment passionate about patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Medical Sonography-Cardiac (RDCS or RCS) and BLS certification.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of Clinical Echo experience.
• Associates Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in all cardiac ultrasound/echo procedures per department protocol.
• Explain procedures to patients and/or family clearly.
• Prioritize workload and respond to urgent cases promptly.
• Verify orders and assign reading MD per protocol.
• Maintain PI documentation and meet accreditation requirements.
• Assist in patient orientation and provide age-appropriate information.
