Job summary

Mercy Health’s The Jewish Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer Registered to perform diagnostic echocardiography exams, including transthoracic and transesophageal studies and cardiac stress testing. The role requires an allied health degree and BLS certification, with RDCS or RCS credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or related study (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
• Credentialed in echocardiography by RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI)

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound equipment to evaluate the heart.
• Demonstrates ability to perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document findings.
• On call hours required.
