Job summary

Mercy Health in West Hospital is seeking a Registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic heart exams using ultrasound equipment. You will conduct Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography along with Cardiac Stress testing, and manage patient care during procedures.

The role requires an Associate degree (or related) and BLS, with credentialing in echocardiography (RDCS or RCS). On-call hours are required; EPIC EHR and PACS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)
• BLS certification by American Heart Association is required
• Credentialed in echocardiography by RDCS or RCS (ARDMS/CCI)

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings
• On call hours required
