Job summary

Mount Carmel, part of Trinity Health, seeks a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform echocardiography studies, review orders, and report preliminary findings for physician interpretation. The role emphasizes patient comfort, data accuracy, and collaboration across departments to deliver high-quality care.

Ideal candidates have ARDMS/CCI credentials or registry-eligible status, 1 year of cardiovascular imaging experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Education required; Associates or Bachelor's in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• ARRT registration or registry eligibility required.
• ARDMS or CCI credentials or board-eligible with certification within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum one year cardiovascular imaging experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Review physician orders to ensure correct procedure and patient identification.
• Perform all studies per policy and accreditation standards; report abnormal findings.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort during testing.
• Enter accurate data in diagnostic equipment and reporting system; ensure report accuracy.
• Communicate pertinent patient data to team members; collaborate with departments for optimal care.
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment; participate in new equipment evaluations.
• Maintain professional development; pursue registry and complete annual competencies.
• Utilize computers and clinical information systems for timekeeping and data entry.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and accreditation processes.
