Job summary

Mount Carmel, a member of Trinity Health, seeks a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform echocardiography studies, report preliminary findings, and support patient care under accrediting guidelines.

The role requires ARRT/ARRDMS/CCI credentials pathways and at least 1 year of cardiovascular imaging experience, along with BLS certification. Strong teamwork and equipment familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• ARRT radiography license or registry eligibility is required.
• ARDMS or CCI certification pathways (RVT/RDCS or RCS/RVS) are accepted.
• If ARDMS/CCI board-eligible, certification must be achieved within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of cardiovascular imaging experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Must be able to lift and move patients and equipment.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review physician orders and correctly identify patients before procedures.
• Perform echocardiography studies following policy, and report abnormal findings per accrediting body.
• Accurately document patient health history and data in the diagnostic system and ensure report accuracy.
• Communicate patient data to the care team and collaborate with departments to ensure care quality.
• Be familiar with equipment used for the tests and participate in new equipment evaluations.
• Maintain professional development, pursue registry, and complete annual competencies.
• Utilize clinical systems and timekeeping tools efficiently.
• Contribute to department improvement and data collection projects.
