Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte is seeking an experienced Echo Sonographer to perform a full range of echocardiography procedures, from routine studies to emergent exams, across multiple sites and shifts.

You will explain procedures to patients, collect relevant history, and prepare preliminary reports for cardiologists, while maintaining equipment and contributing to quality improvement efforts within the Echo Lab.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ARRT(S) and RDMS/RDCS credentials or registration within one year of hire.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms per physician orders and protocols.
• Record quality information during imaging following guidelines.
• Explain procedures and potential side effects to patients or families.
• Provide echocardiography services across multiple locations, shifts, and on-call as needed.
• Operate equipment and optimize diagnostic recordings with transducers and analysis systems.
• Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Review patient records to gather history for procedures.
• Prepare preliminary reports for cardiologist review.
• Participate in quality improvement and maintain logs.
