Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer I–IV to join the Echocardiography department in Cabarrus. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with weekday shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and on-call responsibilities including weekends and holidays.

The position offers a sign-on bonus eligibility based on qualifications, and pays a range of $35.50 to $53.25 per hour. RDCS certification within 1 year and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program is required.
• Certification or registry in Echocardiography (RDCS) within 1 year of employment is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiograms and stress echo procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Records quality information while performing echocardiographic imaging and following procedural guidelines and protocols.
• Explains procedures and possible side effects to the patient or family members.
• Confirms all physician requests and evaluates patients' clinical history for proper clinical indicators and contraindications.
• Collaborates with physician to ensure quality patient care.
• Operates equipment used to perform echocardiograms.
• Maintains patient medical records.
• Organizes reporting steps: study completion, interpretation, and final report.
• Submits final reports to appropriate units as requested.
• Performs portable diagnostic echocardiograms.
• Takes call, weekends and rotates holidays as needed.
