Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX seeks a Device Programming Specialist to support safe device programming, education, and patient monitoring within the clinical team.

You will perform direct patient care, maintain accurate EHR/EMR documentation, and help ensure operational readiness of programming equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or an Associate/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe device programming, integration, reprogramming and patient monitoring.
• Provide patient education about device procedures to ensure understanding and adherence.
• Perform direct patient care and device monitoring with focus on quality and safety.
• Maintain complete clinical documentation in EHR/EMR for continuity of care.
• Support Device Programming Specialist operations with supplies and readiness.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver safe, accurate device programming, integration, reprogramming, and patient monitoring to support effective treatment and optimal clinical outcomes.
• Provide patient education about device procedures, ensuring clear understanding, confidence, and adherence throughout the care experience.
• Perform direct patient care and device monitoring while maintaining clinical quality, safety, and compliance with established standards.
• Maintain complete clinical documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR), supporting accurate communication, continuity of care, and quality improvement.
• Support Device Programming Specialist operations by maintaining essential supplies and ensuring reliable readiness for patient care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
  degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
