Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned engineer to manage complex capital projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers, spanning multiple sites from concept to qualification. You will control productivity, timing and budget while supporting cost-reduction initiatives across manufacturing locations; travel about 60% to various plants to ensure execution and alignment with safety and environmental standards.

Ideal candidates will review new products from a manufacturing perspective and coordinate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven years of professional engineering experience, including seven years in project management.
• Experience with plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and manage multiple resources.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Experience with on-site manufacturing opportunities and project management.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support capital appropriation.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into action plans with cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements.
• Develop plans for upgrades and expansion.
• Analyze and evaluate performance and cost of equipment.
• Communicate and resolve technical, timing and budget issues; publish weekly status reports.
• Create and maintain division level technical specifications and documentation.
• Communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance.
• Travel ~60%.
