Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned engineer to manage complex capital projects for PET preforms and rigid containers, overseeing multiple sites from concept through qualification and into implementation. You will ensure safety, environmental compliance, and cost control throughout all project phases.

The role requires reviewing manufacturing processes, refining feasibility studies, and coordinating with plant directors and resources to deliver on time and within budget. Travel around 60% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years professional engineering experience in plastics packaging, including seven years of project management.
• Knowledge of plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate technical information and to complete project assignments.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and provide support for the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an action implementation plan that meets cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; develop plans for upgrades and expansion.
• Analyze and evaluate performance and cost of equipment and workflows; assess vendors.
• Publish weekly project status reports detailing progress and issues.
• Create and maintain technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants regularly to understand long-term performance and support issue resolution.
• Travel ~60%.
