Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Capacity Coordinator I to support a small group of carriers and independent contractors.

Under routine supervision, you will plan, route, monitor, and deliver freight to ensure safe, on-time service, with shifts including days, nights, and weekends. You will build relationships with carriers, analyze performance, coordinate loads, and participate in payroll-related duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 1–2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience.
• Bachelor's in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive, professional, safe, and reliable relationships with carriers and/or independently contracted drivers to ensure seamless new carrier set-up, minimize turnover, and maximize ongoing productivity.
• Develop knowledge of how to optimize operations and maximize profitability through the understanding of key performance indicators
• Learn to create, maintain, and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis
• Develop knowledge on how to manage inventory, assets, customer pools, and/or assignment of carriers and/or independent contracted drivers to balance equipment in the market
• Learn to perform administrative duties such as submitting payroll, management of the Net-Revenue budget, filing and documenting, resolving settlement issues, invoicing, and/or creating reports
• Learn to coordinate yard duties such such as checking/inspecting equipment, and partnering with maintenance to ensure all regular preventative maintenance services are scheduled on time and all safety-related mechanical issues are fixed for account equipment (as required)
• Act as liaison between carriers and/or independently contracted drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and/or planning, mechanical problems, accessorial pay-related issues, etc. as they occur throughout the day and, where necessary, when on call
• Maintain the Company's safety culture by complying with external & internal regulations, policies, and procedures
• Learn to assign loads and plan, route, and monitor freight movement to provide safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements, including managing exceptions based on pick-up and delivery schedules, and other environmental factors on the road
