Job summary

Southern Utah University seeks an Instructional Technology Specialist to provide day-to-day Canvas LMS support for faculty, staff, and students. You will troubleshoot issues, manage requests, and help maintain training resources to facilitate effective use of Canvas.

You will also assist in supervising student workers, explore new educational technologies, and contribute to professional development within the Center for Teaching Innovation and Division of Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong customer service skills across phone, email, and in-person with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Self-motivated and capable of working with little supervision and as a team member.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
• Knowledge of Canvas LMS or willingness to learn related tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support faculty, staff, and students in day-to-day Canvas functions.
• Assist LMS Administrator with supervising help desk duties and ensuring tasks are completed.
• Update and maintain training resources for Canvas and related technologies.
• Mentor Help Desk Support Student Workers.
• Assist in researching new technologies related to learning management systems.
• Provide professional development.
• Maintain educational technology equipment for the Center for Teaching Innovation.
• Other duties as assigned.
