Job summary

Utah Valley University is seeking an Instructional Technology Assistant to be the first point of contact for faculty, staff, and students needing help with instructional technologies and Canvas. You will troubleshoot issues, support course maintenance, and contribute to excellent service that enhances teaching and learning across UVU.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, collaboration, and ongoing learning of educational technologies in a supportive, mission-driven university setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma and 1 year of technical support and customer service experience.
• Preferred: an associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
• Respond to support requests via phone, email, ticketing systems, and in-person.
• Troubleshoot Canvas and other instructional technologies.
• Assist faculty with course updates and instructional tech tools.
• Monitor escalated requests and ensure timely resolution.
• Develop and improve support documentation and knowledge resources.
• Track support trends and contribute to service improvements.
