Job summary

Zen Leaf in Illinois is seeking a Cannabis Advisor to deliver exceptional customer service, educate guests on cannabis products, and assist with patient record management as needed. You will greet customers, advocate for cannabis customer care, help navigate product options, build rapport with regular shoppers, and maintain a clean, compliant retail environment.

This role requires 21+ with a background check and the ability to stay informed on evolving regulations relevant to the cannabis

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
• Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
• Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes and product application/consumption methods.
• Ability to use office equipment (computers and printers) and their included software (Word, Excel, email).
• Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and maintain a positive attitude.
• Advocate for cannabis customer care.
• Educate customers about cannabis products and usage (not medical advice).
• Build rapport with regular customers to promote repeat business.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Provide information on product types, methods, and efficacy.
• Pursue ongoing cannabis education and training.
• Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
• Keep workstation and storefront clean and organized.
• Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
• Understand and apply compliance regulations as required by law.
• Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of products.
• Process POS transactions and ensure inventory systems (METRC, BioTrack) are updated.
