Job summary

The Cannabist Company (DBA Medicine Man) is seeking a Shift Lead to provide an exceptional customer experience and support store leadership in daily operations. You will lead by example, coach the retail team, and ensure compliance and accurate POS transactions.

Responsibilities include guiding customers on cannabis products, managing inventory accuracy, and closing/opening duties in a fast-paced retail setting, with a focus on service excellence and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of retail or customer service experience.
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach and influence others; flexible to nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support store leadership in achieving sales goals and business growth.
• Lead by example and promote a service-minded retail environment.
• Provide cannabis product guidance to customers for a positive experience.
• Open/close the store and assign tasks as needed.
• Train the retail team on customer intake, sales, inventory, and POS tasks.
• Coach employees and escalate issues to store leadership promptly.
• Ensure SOPs, compliance, and internal processes are followed; report issues.
• Assist with inventory management and regular audits.
