Job summary

The Cannabist Company, formerly known as Columbia Care, is seeking a Lead Retail Associate to support store leadership and lead by example in a fast-paced cannabis retail setting. You will coach staff, handle day-to-day store operations, and ensure exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, supervising tasks, POS transactions, inventory, and training, while maintaining compliance and collaborating with leadership to drive results.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age
• 3+ years of retail or customer service experience
• Cash handling and POS systems experience
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coach and influence others

Responsibilities

• Support store leadership in achieving sales goals and growth.
• Lead by example and promote a service-minded environment.
• Provide cannabis product knowledge and guidance to customers.
• Open/close the store and assign tasks as needed.
• Train the retail team on all tasks including intake, sales, inventory, and POS transactions.
• Coach employees and escalate issues to leadership promptly.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulations; report issues timely.
• Assist with inventory management and audits; support end-of-period processes.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and share findings with leadership.
