The Cannabist Company (DBA Medicine Man) is seeking a Lead Retail Associate to support store leadership in daily operations and to lead by example as a customer-focused team member.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, managing store openings/closes, handling POS transactions, and ensuring compliance with SOPs. A strong customer service background and cannabis product knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail or customer service experience.
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems required.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong collaboration and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Ability to coach and influence others.

Responsibilities

• Support store leadership in achieving sales goals and business growth.
• Lead by example and promote a service-minded retail environment.
• Demonstrate cannabis product knowledge and guide customers for a positive experience.
• Open/close the store and assign daily tasks to meet business needs.
• Train the retail team on intake, sales, inventory, and POS tasks.
• Provide coaching and escalate employee concerns to leadership as needed.
• Ensure SOPs, compliance and internal processes are followed; report issues promptly.
• Assist with inventory management and audits as needed.
