Job summary

The Cannabist Company (f/k/a Columbia Care) is seeking a Shift Lead to provide an exceptional customer experience and support store leadership in day-to-day operations. The role includes coaching staff, maintaining product knowledge, and ensuring smooth opening/closing duties in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will lead by example, drive sales, and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulations while fostering a positive team culture.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 3+ years of retail or customer service experience.
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong collaboration and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Ability to coach and influence others.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support store leadership in achieving sales goals and business growth.
• Lead by example and promote a service-minded retail environment.
• Demonstrate cannabis product knowledge and provide guidance to customers.
• Open/close the store and assign tasks as needed.
• Perform and train the retail team on all tasks including customer intake, sales, inventory, and POS transactions.
• Provide coaching in the moment and escalate employee concerns to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulations; report issues promptly.
• Assist with inventory management and audits; support month/quarter/year-end processes.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and share findings with leadership.
