Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to manage surgeries, post-op appointments, pre-admission testing, and related activities. The role supports the Cancer prevention and screening program by coordinating lung cancer screenings and collaborating with physicians, radiology, and patients.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and capable of compiling data for governance committees.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; experience in a clinical/healthcare setting.
• Ability to maintain a high standard of customer service and observance of organization protocol.
• Strong organizational and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD9, ICD10 codes.
• NextGen scheduling experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgeries, post-op appointments, pre-admission testing, procedures and referrals.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and provide patient education.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiology and patients to coordinate cancer screenings for eligible patients.
• Collect, organize and compile data related to screenings for governance committees.
