Job summary

North Central College seeks an IT Support Specialist to provide service and support for Windows desktops, laptops, and campus peripherals. You will work with faculty, staff and students across academic and administrative units, sourcing, testing, and implementing new systems and technologies.

You will handle help desk tickets, coordinate with network/administration teams, maintain software/firmware, support printers, and assist with classroom moves and device upgrades while promoting inclusive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Interactive Media Studies, or a related field.
A+ and Network+ certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for support of college owned Windows workstations plus peripherals for faculty, staff, student labs, teaching stations and residence halls.
Troubleshoot and close Help Desk calls with documented resolutions; coordinate with network/telecom admins as needed.
Maintain software with latest patches on all college owned Windows computers and peripherals.
Ensure appropriate software is loaded in labs/classrooms for instructional use.
Support printers, managed print services, and multifunction devices.
Plan, setup, upgrade and configure Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals; coordinate moves.
Improve organization of equipment and delivery methods for service.
Back up support for Apple End User Support Specialist and Telecommunications functions.
Demonstrate inclusive behavior and promote a collaborative work environment.
Fulfill other duties as assigned.
