Job summary

Follett LLC in Indianapolis seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support a Market Leader or Campus Store Manager in overseeing store operations and driving sales growth. You will ensure an engaging customer service experience and mentor a team to deliver brand excellence.

You will also manage onboarding, schedules, cash handling, merchandising, inventory, and daily financial tasks while maintaining Follett values and achieving store performance targets.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.
• 0-5 years of retail or bookstore experience preferred; supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer literacy required; ability to organize and prioritize workload.
• Effective verbal and written communication; travel minimal (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Supervises sales team activities, schedules hours, trains new staff and seasonal hires.
• Greet customers, handle phones, resolve escalated issues, and foster a solutions-based service culture.
• Receive, verify, unload orders, and operate cash register per procedures; maintain accuracy.
• Stock shelves, manage inventory, merchandising standards, and displays.
• Assist with opening/closing, deposits, cash handling, and end-of-month reporting.
