Job summary

Barnes & Noble College in Birmingham, AL seeks a Part-Time Supervisor to lead daily campus-store operations and deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will coach team members, support opening/closing duties, and help ensure operational priorities are met in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and provide direction to team members in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor, delivering exceptional customer service while coaching and supporting team members.
• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities, serving as Manager-on-Duty when assigned, and helping ensure operational priorities are completed.
• Assign work, monitor progress, coach team members, and ensure daily priorities and standards are met.
• Maintain knowledge of all store departments to assist customers and meet business needs.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns with professionalism and escalate when needed.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory management, replenishment, order fulfillment, and POS transactions to maintain a customer-ready store.
• Promote safety, loss prevention, and a clean, organized shopping environment.
