Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Part-Time Supervisor to lead daily store operations and deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will coach team members, open/close responsibilities, and ensure operational priorities are met.

This role requires strong communication and retail experience, with the ability to work varied hours year-round, including evenings and weekends, in a campus bookstore environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and provide direction to team members in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations on the sales floor, delivering exceptional customer service and coaching team members to uphold a customer-first culture.
• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities, serve as Manager-on-Duty when assigned, and help ensure priorities are met.
• Assign work, monitor progress, coach staff, and support daily priorities and standards across all departments.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members and reinforce policies, standards, and customer service expectations.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory management, replenishment, order fulfillment, POS transactions, and other operational activities to keep a customer-ready store.
