Job summary

Barnes & Noble College seeks a Part-Time Supervisor to lead daily store operations and deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will coach teammates, support opening/closing, and help execute store priorities in a fast-paced campus environment.

You’ll work closely with leadership to ensure merchandise presentation, inventory tasks, and POS activity run smoothly, while maintaining a welcoming, safe, and organized store for students and faculty alike.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
• Ability to coach and motivate team in fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor and coach team members to create a customer-first culture.
• Assist with opening/closing, act as Manager-on-Duty when assigned, and help ensure priorities are completed.
• Assign work, monitor progress, coach, and ensure daily priorities and standards.
• Maintain knowledge of all store departments to assist customers and meet business needs.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns with professionalism and escalate when appropriate.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new team members; reinforce policies and standards.
• Support merchandising, inventory management, replenishment, POS transactions, and other operational activities.
• Promote standards by supporting operational excellence, safety, loss prevention, and a clean environment.
• Promote a clean, safe, and organized store by modeling excellence and supporting standards.
