Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Part-Time Supervisor to lead daily store operations and provide an outstanding customer experience on campus. You will coach team members, support opening/closing duties, and help drive operational priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, customer service excellence, and adherence to company standards to foster a welcoming campus community and a positive shopping experience for students and faculty.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of retail experience.
• Ability to coach and motivate team members.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work varying schedules year-round, including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Provide day-to-day leadership by assigning tasks and coaching team members.
• Support opening and closing responsibilities and act as Manager-on-Duty when assigned.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory, POS transactions, and store standards.
• Foster a collaborative, welcoming environment for students, faculty, and alumni.
• Ensure safety, loss prevention, and cleanliness standards are met.
