Job summary

The University of Texas Permian Basin Police Department is seeking a Dispatcher / Telecommunicator to receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating police, fire, and medical responses to support campus safety. You will maintain accurate records and manage communications in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include entering CAD data, monitoring CCTV, forwarding calls to the appropriate unit, and composing shift logs and property records while upholding accurate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• TCOLE Telecommunications Operator license or eligibility to acquire one.
• Must pass Public-Safety Telecommunication (PST) test, IPMA CritiCall recommended.

Responsibilities

• Answer Emergency 911 and non-emergency calls for police, security, and technical support events.
• Enter information into CAD and forward to appropriate dispatch station.
• Forward calls to the appropriate UT Permian Basin Police Department office.
• Monitor CCTV and relay information to initiate proper responses.
• Compose and distribute shift and found property logs and related paperwork.
