Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks an Emergency Communications Operator to provide 24/7 police communications, receive calls, dispatch officers, monitor radios, and coordinate responses for UT's campus.

You will operate CAD and public safety systems, maintain accurate incident information, and work 5x8/4x10/12-hour shifts on a 24/7 schedule, with a requirement for a TCOLE Telecommunicator license and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current intermediate TCOLE Telecommunicator License and maintain required certifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must successfully complete background investigation, drug screening, and other pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize, and process emergency and non-emergency calls, documenting critical information.
• Dispatch UT Police Department officers and emergency personnel based on priority and needs.
• Operate and monitor CAD, police radio, alarms, and access control systems.
• Monitor campus video surveillance and communicate hazards to officers and staff.
• Coordinate emergency responses with internal and external public safety agencies.
• Maintain accurate information in law enforcement systems while ensuring confidentiality.
