Job summary

Montana State University Billings is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to promote compliance with campus parking rules through education and enforcement. The role involves foot and vehicle patrols, issuing citations, and managing parking software systems (T2/Banner) while assisting with events and motorist support.

The position operates under the University Police Department with training for student workers and collaboration with multiple campus units.

Qualifications

• Must pass an in-depth background investigation prior to final employment offer
• Must possess and maintain the ability to give credible testimony in a court of law
• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Knowledge of MSU Billings policies and procedures
• Experience with computers and software systems

Responsibilities

• Assist University Police Officers on calls for service and coordinate with other agencies as appropriate
• Identify safety concerns and repair needs for university grounds and parking lots
• Monitor Closed Circuit Surveillance Cameras
• Issue citations for observed violations of university parking regulations
• Operate T2 and Banner parking software systems
• Maintain accurate records and storage systems and assist with lot surveys and reports
• Supervise student workers and assist with hiring/training of student ticket writers
• Assist with setup for special events, construction, or emergencies
• Provide motorist assistance and community engagement around parking services
