Ellucian Company L.P. in Houston offers an on-site Support Technician role at Houston Christian University. You will provide advanced technical support for the university community, handling complex hardware and software issues across Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, and AV systems.

The position requires coordinating deployments, maintaining documentation, and mentoring staff. This role emphasizes customer service and effective communication with diverse campus users.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and supporting Windows computers (desktop configuration, hardware, peripherals, and end-user apps).
• Experience supporting macOS computers is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Office apps, cloud storage, and collaboration/video tools (Zoom, Webex).
• Mobile device support for iPhone, Android, iOS configurations and support.
• MDM/endpoint management tools experience; Microsoft Intune preferred.
• Remote software packaging, deployment, patch management, and imaging for PCs; macOS experience preferred.
• Printer configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Networking concepts, endpoint security/antivirus, and audiovisual systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive technical support to faculty, staff, students, and authorized users as escalation point.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, OS, mobile, printing, network, video conferencing, and AV issues using remote tools or in-person.
• Install, configure, repair, and maintain computers, laptops, peripherals, and software in offices and labs.
• Coordinate major deployments, software releases, upgrades, imaging, and endpoint management.
• Test and evaluate proposed hardware/software for efficiency, security, and compatibility.
• Document incidents, requests, and projects with status and resolution details.
• Escalate high-priority or sensitive issues to ITS leadership per procedures.
• Provide consultative support and training on applications, devices, and services.
