Job summary

Oklahoma State University - OSU‑OKC seeks an Assistant Director of Human Resources to support the HR Director in planning, implementing, and overseeing HR operations for campus staff and students.

The role manages recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, training, and compliance with labor laws and university policies. Requires strong communication, confidentiality, and multitasking in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field and/or related experience.
• Minimum of four years HR experience in onboarding, recruitment, payroll processing, and/or employee relations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with students, faculty, staff and community partners.
• Proficiency with standard office technology and HRIS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Payroll, Benefits and Recruitment functions for HR.
• Assist Director with employee relations and performance management.
• Coordinate information sessions for new employees, including insurance and orientation.
• Act as campus Insurance Coordinator; manage annual option-period meetings.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training.
• Review unemployment claims and respond promptly; coordinate with supervisors.
• Process worker’s comp claims and monitor treatment progress.
• Handle FMLA letters and track leave.
• Serve as lead in HR director’s absence.
• Complete mandatory training and pursue professional development.
