Job summary

Monroe County Community College in Monroe Township, MI, is seeking a custodial staff member under the Director of Campus Planning and Facilities. The role includes cleaning offices, classrooms, restrooms, and assisting with event setup and grounds maintenance.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least one year of related experience. Candidates must be able to lift up to 65 lbs, follow instructions, work well with others, and perform light repairs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid vehicle operator’s license.
• Minimum of one year related experience.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning of offices, classrooms, corridors, restrooms, storage areas, etc.
• Vacuuming and dusting of fixtures and floors
• Campus-wide trash collection and disposal
• Window washing (interior and exterior)
• Floor care – such as stripping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, wood floor care and polishing
• Painting – including preparation and clean-up of minor projects
• Assist with building safety e.g., reporting fires, flooding, etc.
• Follow loading and unloading procedures (up to 65 lbs.)
• Assist with grounds work as directed which includes, but is not limited to the following: string trimming, weeding and mulching of planting beds, push mowing, plant care, power washing, campus-wide exterior garbage collection and disposal, event set-ups, etc.
• Minor repair of cleaning equipment
• Minor flooring repair
• Minor repairs of fixtures, furnishings, and equipment
• Other duties as assigned within the classification of this position
