Job summary

Monroe County is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform repairs and routine maintenance on county facilities and grounds. The role includes planning work, procuring materials, operating and maintaining tools, and assisting with furniture moves, events, and special projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years minimum of prior related work experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Ability to work from a general outline of duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes work order requests and develops a cost-effective and efficient plan to complete the job.
• Provides a list of materials with prices to obtain purchase orders and complete paperwork.
• Purchases materials with purchase orders and transports them to the job site.
• Checks and maintains tools and equipment for safe operation.
• Operates and maintains lawnmowers, tractors, trucks, hand tools, etc.
• Prunes trees and bushes, operates a weed eater, and mows grass.
• Performs furniture and office relocations and assists with setup for events.
• Completes appropriate paperwork and adheres to safety procedures.
