Qualifications

• Must currently hold the Monroe County title of Custodian or meet the minimum qualifications to qualify under HELPS program.
• Completion of eighth grade plus one year of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in building cleaning.
• Special requirements include a valid NY State driver's license or ability to meet transportation needs.
• Preferred qualifications include bilingual ability (Spanish or other languages).

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, washes, dusts and cleans.
• Operates floor and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Performs minor repairs to plumbing, electrical fixtures, carpentry and mechanical systems.
• Maintains heating systems and secures buildings for activities.
• Paints rooms and equipment.
