Job summary

Washington State University Tri-Cities is seeking an Event & Program Coordinator to lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of campus events involving leadership, alumni, donors, and community partners in Richland, WA.

The role includes managing timelines, budgets, communications, vendors and volunteers, plus supervising student workers and the Mascot Program. A bachelor's degree and relevant experience are required; a flexible schedule is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Ability to work a flexible, yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day design, planning, execution and evaluation of campus events involving university leadership, alumni, donors and community guests.
• Manage event timelines, budgets, communications, vendors, volunteers and post-event assessment.
• Oversee the Butch T. Cougar Mascot Program and Student Event Support workers; recruit, hire, train, and schedule student employees; manage program budgets and reservations.
• Set priorities, delegate work and build relationships that support campus and community engagement.
• Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
