Associated Students, Inc. is seeking an Events and Outreach Student Assistant based at the Cal Poly Maritime Academy on the Solano Campus in Vallejo, CA.

You will support planning, promotion, and execution of campus events, coordinating logistics, marketing, and on-site activities. The role emphasizes strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with opportunities to collaborate across campus clubs and departments and to engage with a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Cal Poly student with a minimum of 6 units; grads must carry 4 units.
• Experience with event planning is preferred.
• Ability to be highly organized with good planning skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and those with special needs.
• Experience in leadership or management.
• Interest in music or live entertainment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service to staff, students, vendors, and campus partners.
• Coordinate, promote, and execute events, including setup, on-site support, and tear-down.
• Assist with post-event surveys and event assessment.
• Attend required meetings and trainings and be available for scheduled events.
• Develop relationships with other campuses to share information and opportunities.
• Assist with event registration and ticketing platforms.
