Job summary

Associated Students, Inc. at Cal Poly Solano Campus in Vallejo, CA seeks an Events and Outreach Student Assistant to help plan, promote, and execute campus events.

This role supports logistics, marketing, and on-site coordination to ensure events are well-organized and reflective of campus diversity. You will work with ASI staff and campus partners, coordinating registrations and ticketing, assisting with seasonal events, and upholding ASI policies.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled student at Cal Poly with a minimum of 6 units. Graduate students must carry 4 units.
• Experience with event planning preferred.
• Program specific experience preferred.
• Ability to be highly organized and have good planning skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with various populations and those with special limitations or needs.
• Experience in leadership or management.
• Organizational abilities and experience.
• Interest in music or live entertainment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service to staff, students, vendors, participants, and campus partners.
• Coordinate, promote, and execute events, including set-up, on-site support, and tear-down.
• Support post-event survey distribution and event assessment.
• Be available to work scheduled events and attend required meetings and trainings.
• Event follow-up with agency (if applicable).
• Coordinate support staff duties/roles for special event activities.
• Develop relationships with other college campuses for routing opportunities and information sharing.
• Assist with event registration and ticketing platforms setup and monitoring.
• Support seasonal events and collaboration with campus clubs and departments.
• Adhere to ASI policies and procedures.
• Maintain prompt hours and follow absence procedures.
• Act as a program ambassador with extensive program knowledge.
• Maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with staff and co-workers.
• Demonstrate professionalism, leadership, and commitment to student development.
• Ensure a safe environment for all participants.
