Job summary

Wayne State University in Detroit is seeking an experienced Event Support Technician to set up, operate and maintain event support equipment for a variety of campus events. You will work closely with event planners, venue operators, and other technicians to ensure high-quality support for both small and large gatherings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification in Audio/Visual technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review event production plan and liaise with stakeholders to manage expectations.
• Set up, operate, and control AV and other event equipment across spaces.
• Possibly supervise 1–3 student staff and train on procedures.
• Maintain equipment inventory and usage records; assist with new equipment acquisitions.
