Job summary

Wayne State University in Detroit is seeking an experienced Event Support Technician to join our campus operations team. You will set up, operate and maintain AV and event support equipment for a wide range of events, and collaborate closely with planners and venue operators on campus.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in an event support role, a strong technical background, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Technical certification in Audio/Visual technology preferred.
Minimum 2 years in an event support or similar role.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Strong time management and excellent communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

Review event production plans and liaise with stakeholders to manage expectations.
Set up, operate and control AV and other event equipment across spaces.
May supervise 1-3 student staff; assign and train tasks.
Maintain equipment inventory and usage records; assist with new acquisitions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
