Job summary

The Blackwell Inn & Pfahl Conference Center at The Ohio State University is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead our dining team across the full-service restaurant, lounge, and in-room dining. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to deliver outstanding guest experiences while driving operational excellence and team performance.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on mentoring, real-time problem solving, and impacting guests and team members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in hospitality preferred.
• Experience leading student employees.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a large team of student employees across the restaurant, lounge, and in-room dining.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure seamless service and consistency.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and handle feedback professionally.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to elevate dining experiences.
• Drive scheduling, payroll oversight, training, and performance management.
• Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, safety, and sustainability.
