Job summary

The Ohio State University at Blackwell Inn (Columbus Campus) is seeking an Assistant Chef to oversee the preparation, sanitation and presentation of cooked foods for all meals, room service and lounge. This role requires leadership of a mixed team of full-time and student staff across a kitchen station and preparation area.

The successful candidate will train staff, create station diagrams, write prep lists, assist with menu ideas and plating design, and ensure safe operation of kitchen

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of relevant experience required.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall preparation, sanitation and monitoring of cooked foods.
• Direct workflow of a team of full-time and student employees.
• Train staff on the equipment's proper and safe use; assist with menu suggestions and plating design.
